What are the advantages of digital printing and silkscreen printing?

Silkscreen printing is more cost-effective for spot colour prints where the design is comprised of up to 4 solid colours.
This means there are no half tone effects or tonal values in the colour and it is consistent throughout the design. It is also the better choice for large quantities of a simple generic design because setup and labour costs are greater for silkscreen so it is more expensive to print 1 unit compared to 10 units where the costs are spread out. Silkscreen printing achieves a greater ink coverage and it will last longer in outdoor environments and will not fade as fast in the sun. Positives for artwork are also created which can be kept and stored for future use over and over again.

Digital printing is more cost-effective for full colour CMYK prints. The design can be large and complex with many different tonal values comprising many colours such as photographic images. Digital printing has a thinner ink coverage compared to silkscreen and it’s inks will fade after 6 months in the sun therefore it is a better choice for once-off or short outdoor events and promotions. It is cheaper to print under 15 units using digital and the production process has a shorter turn-around time.

Why don’t you have price lists on the website?

There are several factors involved in quoting on a product. For example, size, type of material, colours and type of print make each quotation unique. It is therefore more practical to generate quotes which are tailored to your specific criteria.

Do your products have a guarantee?

Yes – 18 months against normal wear & tear. It should be noted that outdoor items are not designed for extreme weather conditions, therefore damage caused as a result of exposure to harsh wind, hail and storms is not covered by the warantee. Take care of your investment. Packing away after use will ensure a longer lifespan of the product.

How long do you take to produce your products?

Production times vary according to product, but generally speaking, we need 5 to 7 working days from approval of artwork. More complicated jobs which entail extra design and innovation or more than one type of product may take longer. We are known for producing high-quality products in the shortest time possible and strive to meet our clients’ deadlines every time.

Do your prices include printing?

Yes. All products are custom-printed, unless stated otherwise.

Do your prices include delivery?

No. FOB Durban (unless otherwise stated). For everywhere else, you will be quoted accordingly. Occasionally we will publicise a special with an inclusive delivery fee. These will appear in our e-mail newsletters and on our website.

In what format do I send my artwork to you, and using which method?

Refer to our Artwork Guidelines. Artwork may be e-mailed to us, copied to disc or transferred via FTP.
